The Lifelong Learning and Achievement Action Team Chairpersons, Stefanie Lief and Jim Krone have been working with The Director of the Atchison Library, Gary Landeck to be of support for the after school teen program. The Atchison Library hosts a weekly after-school teen program to promote and provide a fun and safe learning environment. The program helps students learn essential communication and interaction skills with both peers and adults throughout the community.

The teen program is being enhanced by Live Well. Live Atchison. funds to provide healthy snacks. Since the teen programming is held right after school the students come to the library hungry. The support of Live Well. Live Atchison. provides the students with healthy snacks while teaching them how to make healthy eating choices.
